Orca Bay Mystery Quilt Part 2
I finally completed all of my quarter square triangles for Orca Bay and have started on part 2. So far, I have 6 blocks completely done. I love the way they are turning out but I think I may have cut my fabrics too small. I used 3/4", 1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2". Using the ones and inch and under are making me have to use at least 8 fabrics. So it is taking longer to make them then if I had used larger cuts of fabrics. Anyway, here is the photo of the ones I have completed so far. I actually love them!
Half my blocks are done now!

Using the narrower fabric does take longer but really makes them look so good!
ReplyDeleteThey look great! Hang in there...you'll be happy with the narrow cuts when you are finished!
ReplyDeleteI like what you've done so far, I also used some 3/4" strings. Sometimes that size peeking out adds just the right accent to the block!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the narrow strips. I used mostly 3/4 - 1" on mine. Takes longer but I think the effect is really great. Keep it up and you will see the benefit!
ReplyDeleteLove the blues and turquoises in your cute little blocks. That's what I'm using for my main color.
