I joined the DQS8 doll quilt swap. My partner is an amazing quilter so I was nervous about making this quilt. I made 3 different quilts before I found what I wanted. I decided to try and machine stitch my binding down. Big mistake! I am NOT good at machine stitching the binding down and it came out absolutely horrendous.
So, the front of the quilt came out nice and the back, not so nice :-) I hope my partner likes it!

If you *must* machine stitch binding, sew it to the back of the quilt first, then use a decorative stitch to finish it on the front. I rarely do this but I'm always surprised at how great it turns out. :)
ReplyDeleteBradie, That makes so much sense and would have turned out so much better. Although I much prefer to hand stitch which I thought I hated but actually love :-)
