Bernina Quilt Frame

My DH bought me a Bernina Quilt Frame for christmas today! I am using it with my Bernina 440QEE and so far I am loving it! I was not sure about the small throat space but it really is not that bad. I can stipple with ease and the stitch regulator seems to work so much better. And the best part of all, I don't have to pin baste my quilts anymore!!!! As soon as my batteries charge for my camera I will snap some photos. I am also going to make some videos because I have not seem many where people are using regular sewing machines with a quilt frame.

I also won a giveaway from Tom over at quilting and carving! I won a beautiful handcrafted picture frame with gnomes! Pics to follow when it comes in the mail!!

Happy Quilting!
Lynn

  2. Hi,

I just found your blog and was wondering how big of a quilt can you quilt with your Bernina 440 using your Bernina Quiting frame? I found a frame that someone is willing to sell at a great price and was wondering if I would have enough quilting area using my Bernina 630. Also do you like your Accuquilt cutter? I am looking at buying one of them. Thank youfor your help.

  3. Hi Linda, I sent you an email! I can quilt a king size quilt on my frame. I just go side to side using a stipple for now. I am going to buy a template so I can do patterns.

As for the accuquilt, I love mine! Some of the dies do not cut true cuts though. I just need to learn how to place the fabric the correct way and all should be good!.

Let me know if you get the frame!

  4. Hey! I was so encouraged that you are using your Bernina frame with your 440! I found a good deal on a frame and recently purchased it, so I'm going to get started. Dumb question, here... How do you secure your machine to the carriage? Thanks so much for your encouragement and help! Blessings, Mary Lou - KY

  5. Mary Lou, The machine just sits on the carriage that rolls back and forth. One of the bars goes through the machine and that is it. I still love love love my frame!!
